9 Week Baby Ultrasound

I forgot to put my ultrasound picture up. The baby's head is near the bottom with the body on the top left.

Design Rehaul

I completely changed my theme and colors on the blog tonight. I felt the old black and red theme was getting a bit outdated. I'm now using a bright rainbow design. I want to create a header graphic later, and I might tweak the design a little more before I'm satisfied.  I just wanted a girlier look.

14 Weeks 6 Days Pregnant

Today, I am 14wks6dys pregnant. My early symptoms of sleeping all day long, getting headaches due to glucose drops, and my food aversions are all a thing of the past. Just the smell of some food items in my fridge caused me to lose my appetite. I'm still peeing all the time, and now my lower back hurts randomly throughout each day.

I'm not really showing a baby bump, but I am showing. The organs in my belly are getting pushed up and out. I'm retaining lots of water and pumping lots of blood throughout my body. Veins are getting bigger and more visible under my skin. It's actually quite gross as I hate seeing veins. Body hair grows faster too. I shave my legs and the next day there's stubble. I know, TMI.

My feet are also swelling. My big brother got married two days ago, and I did a little too much dancing. My feet looked like Shrek's feet.

I woke up feeling hungover the morning after even though I was only drinking orange juice all night. They say the second trimester is the golden era of pregnancy, and I can see why. The symptoms from 1T fade and your body isn't as big as a whale like in the 3T. So far, so good!

Baby Gender Reveal

My husband has begged me to update my blog. I am pleased to announce that we will be finding out the gender of our baby on Thursday, June 24th. I had originally scheduled it for Friday, but my husband found out he has Thursday off as well! So, we can go in a day early! Woo hoo!

We are not the type of couple that wants to be surprised at birth to find gender. I can't stand buying yellow and green clothing and yarn. We picked out gender neutral basics like strollers and car seats because we hope to use them in the future regardless of gender. Other items really need that special touch. Little girls should be more whimsical and little boys should be more sporty. This is our opinion, and we have no problem with parents that give Barbies to their sons and what not.

Anyway, we will share the gender news at my family's 4th of July party/reunion. I am baking cupcakes with white frosting on top. They're themed to go with Independence Day. My mom will help me inject either blue or pink frosting inside each one. She won't know the gender until I tell her what dye to drop into the mix. My family will all get a cupcake to bite into at the same time. My husband's job prevents him from being there on a holiday, so I will spread the joy by myself. I just hate secrets!

I'm 8 Weeks Pregnant!

I can finally update my anonymous blog concerning my pregnancy. I've known about it since April 6th, but I didn't want my mother wandering over here and finding out early.  We're due December 15th. If I'm early or if I'm late, it'll most likely be a December baby. My birthday is December 11th, so who knows what'll happen.

We're still worried that we might lose it. We're not in safe waters yet. I go in for my first ob/gyn appointment on May 13th. That day can't come soon enough. I'm hoping to hear a heartbeat and see the little bean on an ultrasound. I'm fearing labor, but I'm totally interested it how my body will change.

We already have two names picked out. As early as we can, we want to know the gender. I like to plan ahead, and I absolutely hate surprises.

EDIT: I had to edit this post to remove the names I had chosen. It appears someone in real life has found my blog by searching for my name and the baby's name. :(

My hubby wants a boy, and I want a girl. We both come from households ruled by boys, so I want to get a girl out as soon as I can.
